NATCHEZ — Little Freya McLaurin, sucking on her pacifier, didn’t quite know what to think of the white-bearded man in a bright red suit at the Children’s Christmas Tree program inside the Braden auditorium Saturday.

But Hazel Jackson, a bit older, gave Santa a big hug.

They were both with approximately 300 children who received Christmas presents during the program.

Zoee Johnson and her sister Jacei Johnson opened up theirs as soon as they returned to their seats.  Jacei, a little hair stylist, got a play cosmetology set and her older sister got a basketball.

Journee Robinson, still carried in her mama’s arms, grinned widely when she saw Santa and shook his hand.

Kaiden Pickett smiled timidly when his mom asked for Santa to let Pickett take a picture on his lap, which he happily obliged.
