MEADVILLE – Martha Lee Delaney, favorably known as “Mot”, 93, of Natchez, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, in Meadville, MS.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Franklin County Funeral Home with Tyson Windom officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Jefferson County, MS.
Martha was born March 17, 1930, in Calhoun City, MS to David London and Ruby Pearl England. Martha married William Rayburn Delaney on July 9, 1949, in Franklin County, MS. In 1966, Martha and Rayburn would make their home in the Natchez area where they would finish raising their five children there.
Martha is survived by her children, David (Shirley) Delaney, Jimmy (Karen) Delaney, Tammy (Carlton) Hall, Randy (Penny) Delaney, and Leigh Ann Delaney Tidwell; seven grandchildren, Amy (Jay) Gamberi, Clayton (Christy) Delaney, Will (Elsie) Delaney, Erin Delaney, Drew (Paula) Hall, Paul (Desiree) Delaney, and Nicole (Casey) Beach; fourteen great-grandchildren; Mia and Graci Jayne Gamberi, Carly Delaney and Morgan (Joey) Russell; Madison, Ava, and Parker Delaney; Emily and Easton Hall; Salem, Maven, and Bowen Delaney; and Randi Lynn and Wyatt Beach; three great-great-grandchildren, Hayes McGraw, Briar Day, and Grace Russell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rayburn; her siblings, David Allen England, Robert Earl England, and Ruby Hazel Ingram and her son-in-law, James Tidwell.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Delaney, Will Delaney, Drew Hall, Paul Delaney, Jay Gamberi and Casey Beach.
