FAYETTE – Funeral services for Mary Lee Lockhart, 84, of Fayette, who departed this earthly life on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, in Fayette, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Greenleaf Baptist Church with Pastor Elbert Eakins officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home – Fayette branch.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, from 5 until 6 p.m. at the Fayette Branch and will continue on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Mary was born July 18, 1939, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Martha Green Lee and Alonzo Lee. She received her high school diploma from Warren Central in Vicksburg. She was a member of the Greenleaf Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Hearts of Greenleaf, and was on the Youth Department Planning Committee. Mrs. Lockhart was also a member of Jefferson County’s Cancer Survivors’ Support Group. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed traveling, fishing, watching television, and attending church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Lockhart; daughter, Martha Pearl Lockhart; and brothers, Edward Lee, McLarence Lee, Samuel Lee, and Carl (Peter) Lee.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Otis D. Lee (Janet); sister, Peggy L. Oliver (Emanuel); grandsons, Frankie Lee Lockhart (Kessela); Eric Terrell Lockhart, and Larry Parson; granddaughter, Taiwanna Davis (James); and a host of other relatives and friends.
