NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten, who has been keeping up with the search for Sammy Patrick, a suspect in the Scott County murder of an elderly woman, said he is not thought to still be in Adams County or the immediate area.

Patrick is suspected of robbing a Subway restaurant in Woodville on Jan. 1 and attempting to take a worker’s vehicle.

He left the store driving a dark-colored Ford Ranger pickup truck, which was later identified by having been stolen from the Hattiesburg area.

“Since we last talked about this case, several other agencies have gotten involved, including the U.S. Marshal Service,” Patten said. I got an update on Wednesday that he has been tracked to Plaquemine Parish. We do not believe he is in our area at this time.”

No one was hurt during the Subway robbery, but Woodville Police Chief Lemuel Rutledge said Patrick displayed two handguns during that robbery. Rutledge said he is armed and dangerous.

A $5,000 reward is being offered in Scott County for Patrick’s arrest. Patten said anyone with information about Patrick’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Patrick is a suspect in the shooting death of Dee Eady, 73, of Forest. Eady was allegedly fatally shot, abused and her body burned. A family member found her dead in her carport.
