MAGEE, MS – Marie May Lofton of Natchez, MS passed away peacefully sleeping on Jan. 9, 2024, with her husband at her side. Born Marie A’Linda May in Magee, MS to Billy Green and Mary May. She was active on her family farm in Simpson County and loved to tell stories of her job cutting thistles in the pasture, going to town once a month, and her grandparents, HillTop Dairy. She attended Copiah Lincoln Junior College in Wesson, MS where she met her husband, Jackie. Marie was a CoLin Colette who performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1965. Her Colette friends, now known as CoLin Cuties, dared her to walk Jackie Lofton off the football field after a game – She did. They married in 1966.

Before she retired, she managed the Natchez Mall. She took great pride in making sure the Mall looked amazing for all holidays. She managed to have Santa and his reindeer at the mall.
