POPLARVILLE — The Natchez High School Lady Bulldogs saw their season come to an end at the hands of the Laurel High School Lady Golden Tornadoes 66-35 in the quarterfinals of the 2024 MHSAA Class 5A South State Playoffs.

Region 4-5A No. 1 seed Laurel led Region 3-5A No. 2 seed Natchez High 8-4 by the end of the first quarter. Then the Lady Golden Tornadoes went on a tear in the second quarter as they outscored the Lady Bulldogs 27-9 for a commanding 35-13 halftime lead

Natchez High finished its season with an overall record of 22-9. Lady Bulldogs head coach Alphaka Moore could not be reached for comments on the game.
