NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Rachel Debard Mitchell, 47, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, in Jackson will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at West Gate Funeral Home (George F. West, Sr. Memorial Chapel) with Pastor James Brown officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Rachel was born July 11, 1976, in Natchez, the daughter of Henry and Bobbie Mitchell. She was a 1995 graduate of Natchez High School and retired from Kentucky Fried Chicken after serving 23 years.  Rachel loved cooking.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Mitchell; grandparents, Claudie and Rachel Mitchell and Joseph and Betty Miles; nephew, Daren Myles and uncle, Willie James Miles.

Rachel leaves to cherish her memories: spouse, Patrick Armsted; two daughters, Lakeria Armsted and Anbriel Mitchell; parents; “fur baby”, Coco Mitchell; brothers, Patrick Williams, Michael Miller, Melvin Myles (Maria) and Cordell Myles; sisters, Tara Mitchell, Shirley Bailey, Aisha Shepherd, Sharonica Myles, and Tosha Crawford; aunts, Janice Myles, Lavone Belton, Karen Mahyoub (Fadhl), Mary Ann Brown (June); uncles, Joseph Myles (Kittie), Herman Myles, Charles Myles (Janice); special friend, Gerald Jackson, other relatives and friends.
