NATCHEZ – The owners of Go Mart are asking the public’s help in identifying a couple who damaged more than $10,000 in shelving early Saturday morning.

The man and woman, captured on video in an older model blue Chevrolet truck, repeatedly rammed a pallet of shelving and backed over concrete poles during the early morning incident.

“They tried to pull through the driveway at the back of our building,” said Wright Graning, who runs the store at 4 Seargent Prentiss Drive. “They ran into the pallet and then (the driver) backs up and hits the pallet again, and then he backs up and hits the pallet again.”

After repeated tries, the couple left the truck and tried to push the pallet aside to clear a passage.

“When that didn’t work, they backed out over a pole,” Graning said.

Video footage shows the truck leaving Go-Mart and turning right onto U.S. 61 South at the stoplight. The incident took place at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

Graning said the Natchez Police Department has been notified. “We’re hoping someone might be able to help identify this couple or give us some more information about the truck,” he added.
