NATCHEZ — Scattered to numerous showers, along with some thunderstorms, are expected to re-develop and move back into the area later this morning and into the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
An isolated severe thunderstorm or two, capable of producing damaging wind gusts and hail to the size of quarters, will be possible through mid-afternoon.
The timeframe of severe weather in Adams County and the surrounding region lasts until 3 p.m.
Later on this week, showers and thunderstorms will become widespread on Thursday and Friday, NWS states. The forecast calls for one to two inches of rain, with locally higher amounts.
The most unstable environment during this time frame will be from Texas to the central Gulf Coast. This is where severe weather is expected to be most concentrated. In Arkansas, isolated severe storms are possible, mainly in southern sections of the state.
Any flash flooding should be localized.
