VIDEO: Hail strikes part of Natchez

NATCHEZ — Dime size to quarter-sized hail struck part of Natchez amid an afternoon thunderstorm on Tuesday.

Residents submitted photos and videos of the hail as it briefly came down around 1 p.m. in the area of Wendy’s restaurant on Seargent Prentiss Drive and in the Oakhurst subdivision.

There is a slight risk for areas along and east of the I-55 corridor and a marginal risk to the west for severe weather this afternoon into evening, according to the National Weather Service. The primary threat is damaging wind gusts and hail up to quarter size.

Tornadoes are also possible, especially across the central to east-northeastern Mississippi. The threat lasts through 7 p.m. tonight.
