NATCHEZ – Albert Lee French, 92, of Natchez, MS passed from this life on March 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Latham officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 2:45 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home.

He was born on Nov. 8, 1931, to parents Albert and Louise French in Hamburg, MS.

Albert attended high school in Roxie, MS. He later received an associate’s degree from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, MS. He was a Korean War veteran, served in the Honor Guard, and spent six additional years serving his country as a National Guard Reservist. Albert retired from International Paper after 43 years as a Routine Chemist and Quality Control Specialist. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Ferriday, LA, and Natchez, MS. He enjoyed travel and was an avid outdoorsman. He was most passionate about hunting and fishing.

Left behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 68 years, Ms. Dolores French of Natchez, MS; daughter, Sherry French of Natchez, MS; son, Mike French of Ridgecrest, LA; son, Jeff French (Debra) of Monterey, LA; grandchildren, Matt Gardner (Abby), Reilly French, Rodney French, Laura Weatherly (Champ), and LaDaire Lonk (Adam); 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; his Caregiver and pal, Sarah Bordelon; and Jessica Carter, his caring Hospice Aide.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Louise, and his brother, Harold French.

Serving as pallbearers, Billy Floyd, Keith Lee, Matt Gardner, Adam Lonk, Champ Weatherly, and Hunner Weatherly.
