NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was found dead in a room at the Terrace Motel at about noon on Saturday, April 6. However, Natchez Police Commander Jerry Ford said it appears the man died of natural causes.

Ford said a friend was trying to get in touch with Taurus West, 43, of Natchez, but could not make contact. The person went to the manager of the motel, who opened up the room, and West’s body was discovered.

“There was nothing that we saw to support foul play, but just to be cautious, I have asked the coroner to confirm some things. That information has not come back to us yet,” Ford said.
