MONTEREY – Funeral services for Robert “Bobby” Houston Hamilton, Jr., 85, of Acme, LA will be held at Monterey Church of Christ on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Clyde Grammon and Paul Avery officiating. Interment will follow at New Era Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Bobby was born on Friday, Sept. 16, 1938, in Shreveport, LA, and passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bobby spent his life out in the fields farming. In his free time, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Bobby will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is reunited with his wife, Bonita Burley Hamilton; parents, Robert Hamilton, Sr. and Margie Bryan Hamilton; son, Keith Hamilton; daughter-in-law, Debbi Hamilton; granddaughter, Kayla Hamilton; and sister, Betty Burnett.

Those left behind to cherish Bobby’s memories are his sons, Robert Hamilton, III and his wife, Doris and Cliff Hamilton and his wife, Lea Ann all of Monterey, LA; seven grandchildren, Kristie Lee and her husband, Jeremy of Brookhaven, MS, Jessica Hamilton and her husband, Trey, Lindsay Fifield and her husband, Marcus, Robert Hamilton, IV and his wife, Cynthia, James Hamilton and his wife, Margaret all of Austin, TX, Lanna Hamilton, of Monterey, LA, and Connor Hamilton and his wife, Sierra of Monterey, LA; great-grandchildren, Mia Lee, Carter Lee, JT Swain, Britt Swain, Mason Fifield, Kaylyn Fifield, Nolan Hamilton, Juniper Hamilton, Houston Hamilton, Harper Hamilton and Hyedi Jo Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Those honoring Bobby as pallbearers will be Robert Hamilton, IV, James Hamilton, Connor Hamilton, Jeremy Lee, Trey Swain, and Dean Burnett.

The family will receive friends at Monterey Church of Christ on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5 until 8 p.m.
