NATCHEZ — Tack Up for Lilly-Anne and St. Jude will offer something for everyone in the community, all while raising money for good causes.

On Saturday, June 1, a safety briefing for trail riders begins at 12:30 p.m. and riders will depart at 1 p.m. for a ride that will last between three and four hours on Saturday, June 1.

After the trail ride, an evening of music, dancing and food and fun for everyone will begin at 5:30 p.m. featuring incredible hometown musicians Bryce McGlothin and Tyler Gregg.

All will take place at David and Paige Carlton Carter’s Double C Ranch, 1087 Hutchins Landing Road, Natchez.

Most of the money raised will go to local child Lilly-Anne Bryan, who was a patient at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, where she beat cancer after a seven year battle. Lilly-Anne recently celebrated her 11th birthday.

“They called it having no evidence of disease,” said friend Maria Vaughn. “But the result of all of the chemo is that her lungs are failing and she needs a lung transplant. Lilly-Anne is in Houston right now, where she is having medical complications. They have to get those resolved before they can move forward with the lung transplant.”

The lung transplant will require the family to move to Houston.

“They moved out there just this week,” Vaughan said. “They are hoping they can come back for the ride, but that depends on how her health is.”

Cost of the trail ride is $25. Entrance to the evening portion of the event is free, but donations will be accepted and appreciated. Jambalaya will be served for donations.

McGlothin and Gregg of “Easily Distracted” will kick off the music June 1 and will be followed by The Logan Sanders Band of Nashville, who will bring high-energy country covers and classic rock mixed with their original music.

The event will also include raffles, live and silent auctions.

Those attending will need to bring their own chairs.
