NATCHEZ — A woman driving a small sedan swerved off the road and into a ditch at about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Liberty Road.
The car caught fire, and the Natchez Fire Department arrived quickly and extinguished the blaze, said Natchez resident Jack Blaney. The woman driving the vehicle was not injured. No information was available on what caused the accident.
Blaney praised the work of the fire department.
“We thought the car was going to blow up, but they ran up to it like they were bullet proof,” he said.
