FERRIDAY – Arnold “Ernie” Foreman, 80, passed away at his home in Ferriday, LA on June 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family in his final moments, he will be remembered daily for his warmth and kindness. He walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone he encountered with an unforgettable grace. His absence will leave a void in many hearts.

Ernie was a devout Christian who no doubt walked the “Streets of Gold” immediately following his last breath. He was honored to be a member of Crossbridge Church and could be found sitting in his chair in the back row every Sunday. He proudly served our country as a Sergeant E-5 in the United States Marine Corps (Ooh Rah!!) and retired from the railroad in 2000. He spent his free time fishing, rooting loudly for LSU (Geaux Tigers!!), and meticulously caring for his yard and plants. Until he was prevented by his declining health, he took an annual trip to Branson, Mo. with his wife, an annual fishing trip with his daughter, and made himself a beach bum for at least one long weekend every summer with his family. Ernie loved life but loved his family more.

He leaves behind a loving wife of 23 years, Carolyn Foreman; his children, Brett (Hazel) Foreman, Angie (EJ) Richard, Chad (Misty) Foreman, Angie (Chad) Pody, and Kim (John) Tarver; his sister, Theresa Smith; his grandchildren, Travis (Mariah) Hampton, Natali (Jason) Grantham, Kaleb (Shadoe) Hampton, Brea Foreman, Kelsi (Austin) Doughty, Noah (Tylee) Foreman, Anna Pody, Garrett Pody; special niece Tabitha Curtis; and a host of great-grandchildren and nephews.

Ernie believed and would say, “A funeral is a lifetime in one day.” Please help us honor and celebrate his lifetime during his services on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Crossbridge Church in Ferriday, LA with Matt Jarvis. The family will be accepting friends from 10 a.m. until noon with a service time at 1 p.m. immediately followed by a burial at Hewitt Cemetery in Mangham, Louisiana.
