NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Deputies have made three additional arrests in relation to a search warrant executed in Cranfield last Thursday evening that yielded the confiscation of drugs and three arrests.

Deputies with the ACSO Special Operations Group executed a search warrant at 37 Fieldview Drive. The sheriff’s office had received several complaints about criminal activity taking place in two houses on Fieldview Drive.

On Thursday evening, when deputies entered the house, Roy Ray Jr. ran to a bathroom and began flushing drugs in his possession down a toilet.

Deputies were able to take Ray into custody without incident and retrieve some of what he had flushed. Deputies dismantled the toilet and were able to recover Suboxone strips, two bags of marijuana, and a clear bag of pills that were beginning to dissolve in the water.

Deputies also recovered a set of digital scales from the bathroom trash can. Also recovered were a set of brass knuckles and plastic baggies from the kitchen counter.

Deputies soon learned that Ray received a message from Tabitha McClain at 11 Fieldview, warning him that sheriff’s deputies were coming to his house just before deputies pulled into the driveway. That message put deputies at risk. Deputies went to 11 Fieldview and arrested McClain for hindering prosecution.

While waiting for a transport unit to arrive, a Ford Explorer, driven by Edrina Fay Fairchild, turned onto Fieldview and began accelerating toward the deputies standing on the side of the road. Fairchild continued accelerating toward the deputies and caused them to take evasive actions for their safety.

Fairchild continued accelerating to 37 Fieldview, where other deputies were still searching. Fairchild was taken into custody for two active warrants and reckless driving.

Ray was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of schedule II Suboxone, possession of marijuana less than 30 grams and tampering with evidence. Ray is still on probation for a prior drug charge.

McClain, 18, was arrested for hindering prosecution.

Edrina Fay Fairchild, 49, was arrested for reckless driving and contempt of court warrants.

On Friday morning, June 7, ACSO deputies received information about a wanted subject, Joshua McClain, 27, at 11 Fieldview Drive, who was wanted for failure to appear. Deputies arrested McClain at the residence.

In addition, deputies arrested James Johnston, 49, who had active warrants for trespassing, and Chastity Hammers, 50, who had active felony warrants for probation
violation in Louisiana. Deputies were able to confirm that Louisiana would extradite Hammers and she was then placed under arrest.

All three were transported to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and booked in.
