Natchez man dies in equipment accident in Rapides Parish

NATCHEZ — A Natchez man died last week in an equipment accident in Rapides Parish.
According to reports, Willie Newman, 34, of Natchez, died tragically due to traumatic injuries received in an equipment accident on a property in the 4300 block of Pardue Street in Ball, Louisiana, located just north of Pineville, on June 6.
The incident is under investigation by the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office and Rapides Parish Coroner to determine what circumstances caused the accident.
According to his obituary, Newman is survived by his wife Tiffany Newman, parents Deliza Thomas and Floyd Newman Sr, sons Temarius Burkhalter and Willie Newman Jr., daughters, Trislynn, Terricka and Trinity, as well as numerous siblings and other family members and friends. He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Alyssa Newman.
He was a 2009 graduate of Natchez High School and furthered his education at Copiah Lincoln Community College and worked as a truck driver.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by West Gate Funeral Home.
