NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Tia LaVon Davis, 33, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Thursday, June 17, 2023, in Jackson will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Wright, Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Tia was born Sept. 18, 1990, in Fayetteville, NC, the daughter of Aretha Stumps Davis and Haqq Muhammad. She was a 2009 graduate of Natchez High School and furthered her education at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Jonesville Beauty School, and Delta College. Tia was a Pre-K teacher at First Presbyterian Playschool. She was a member of Greater New Bethel Baptist Church. Tia enjoyed being a beautician and also crafts and decorating.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Arthur Stumps, Sr.; grandmother, Doris Davis; grandfather, James Young; aunt, Codessa Davis Mason; uncle, Arthur Stumps, Jr.; cousin, Felicia McCoy; great-uncle, Leroy Davis, Sr., and great-aunt, Dorothy Jackson.

Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her parents: Aretha Stumps Davis and Haqq Muhammad; sons, Tylan Perry, Triston Robinson; godson, David Bradley, Jr.; daughters, Teaghan Perry; goddaughters, Ariana Stumps, Ariyah Stumps, and Carleigh Bradley; special niece, Trinity Stumps; special nephew, Germanie Stumps, Jr.; brother, Germanie Jermaine Stumps (ShanKerra); sister, Breanna Stumps; grandmother, Rosie Stumps, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
