Update: Heat advisory affecting Wilkinson County until Saturday evening

On Saturday at 4:21 p.m. an updated heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 8 p.m.
The NWS states, “Heat index values up to 112 degrees expected.”
“Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses,” explains the NWS.

- Stay hydrated: Make sure to drink plenty of fluids.
- Seek shelter: Stay indoors in an air-conditioned room to keep cool.
- Avoid sun exposure: Stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
