Heat index values up to 118 degrees foreseen until Thursday evening

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning at 4:16 a.m. on Thursday valid for Thursday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The NWS says, “Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 118 degrees expected.”
“Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events,” explains the NWS.

- Recognize heat-related issues: Recognize the warning signs and familiarize yourself with symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
- Stay cool with clothing: Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing to stay cool.
