Jerry Noble dumps a bucket of fish in their temporary home as Eduardo Rodriguez skims the pond for more goldfish.

More than 230 goldfish were displaced from their residence at Memorial Park Monday as inmates from the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility cleaned the fountain of leaves and a thick layer of green algae. Monday afternoon, the fountain pond was power washed and filled with clean water for the goldfish and a school of new fish — algae eaters.

Goldfish are caught in the net used to scoop them up Monday from the fountain.

Orlando Isom and Rodriguez sweep out leaves and green algae from the bottom of the Memorial Park fountain.
