LAUREN WOOD/THE NATCHEZ DEMOCRAT — John Curran tapes a “Pennies for Patriots” flier onto a water jug Monday morning at attorney Jim Blough’s office. Curran, a veteran, was helping label the 22 jugs to be placed at different businesses and schools across the Miss-Lou for collecting donations for the Miss-Lou Patriotic Tribute. The committee is working to fund a series of exhibits coming to the Natchez Convention Center this November in honor of Veterans Day. The exhibits will include the traveling Vietnam Wall, a tribute honoring those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, a gold dog tag display and more.

Mark LaFrancis works on another jug. Tax-deductible donations to the effort be made in memory or in honor of a loved one. Donations can be sent to: Miss-Lou Patriotic Tribute, P.O. Box 442, Natchez, MS 39121, or contact Donnie Verucchi at 601-807-0534, or Doug McCallister at 601-442-4310.
