NATCHEZ — With just a few days left until Fall Pilgrimage ends, Natchez Pilgrimage Director Marsha Colson said tour numbers have fluctuated so far this season.

Colson said some Pilgrimage homes, such as Auburn, The Briars and Oak Hill, have had good days, up to 80 and 100 visitors a day. Other houses have not seen that number of visitors, she said.

“We have had some great spikes (in numbers) and some lows,” Colson said. “As always, we have to wait until it’s all over to see where we’re at.”

Ticket sales are close to last year, Colson said, but she said last year Fall Pilgrimage saw fewer visitors than she hoped.

“There are a lot of reasons, but I can never know exactly what the reason for really good days and then bad days,” Colson said.

Once Pilgrimage is complete, Colson said organizers would evaluate how it went based on how it was promoted and other factors.

Fall Pilgrimage ends Sunday.

The Natchez Little Theatre will present “Sordid Lives” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Amos Polk’s Voices of Hope choir will perform tonight at the Carriage House, with dinner at 6:45 p.m. and the concert from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
