Adams County Justice Court Cases

Week of Oct. 12-18:

Deyounta V. Rogers charged with obstructing justice. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Johnny Seals charged with simple assault. Case remanded to files. Seals also charged with possession of marijuana. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Damon Hargrave charged with sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Germain Rogers charged with disturbance of a family. Case remanded to files.

David M. Cockerham pleaded guilty to petit larceny. Cockerham pleaded guilty to willful trespassing.

Anthony White charged with disorderly conduct. Case remanded to files. White charged with resisting arrest. Case remanded to files. White charged with simple assault. Case bound over to a grand jury. White charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Case remanded to files.

 

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Thursday, Oct. 4:

Jamauri McNealy pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After serving one day, the remaining balance of four years and 364 days is to be served on post-release supervision, which shall be supervised under the supervision of the MDOC. Must pay all court cost and the prosecution fee of $200 within six months. Credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail.

Derrick Green pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections suspended and placed on five years formal probation under the supervision of the MDOC. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 within six months. Credit given for time already served.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 3:

Kimberly Thomas has her case entered nolle prosequi in Judge Forrest “Al” Johnson’s court because the defendant has successfully completed the pre-trial intervention program.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 26:

Lawrence Green has his case entered nolle prosqui in Sanders’ court for the reason that the defendant entered a guilty plea, with the agreement of the state and counsel for the defendant that this cause will not be pursued.

 

Friday, Sept. 21:

Lawrence Green pleaded guilty to sexual battery in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the MDOC suspended and place on five years formal probation under the supervision of the MDOC. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 within 30 days. It is further ordered that the defendant shall immediately register as a sex offender.

Kelsey Watson pleaded guilty to simple robbery (count 2) in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the MDOC suspended and placed on five years formal probation under the supervision of the MDOC. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 within 30 days. Count 1 (armed robbery) is dismissed.

 

Natchez Municipal Court Cases

Friday, Oct. 12:

Damion Chatman pleaded guilty to trespassing. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294.

 

Monday, Oct. 15:

Jon Dale Adams Jr., 41, pleaded guilty to amended charge of disturbing the peace — domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days with 28 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve two days in jail. Fine set at $694.

Dexter Ulysses Johnson, 45, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 17:

Jerrod T. Bassett, 30, charged with possession of marijuana while operating a motor vehicle. Case remanded to files at request of officer and prosecutor. Bassett pleaded guilty to improper equipment — headlights out. Fine set at $130.

Charles Gentry, 30, found guilty of simple assault. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $494.
