Braves hit the road, defeat Alabama A&M

NORMAL, Ala. (AP) — Marquiz Baker and LeAntwan Luckett each scored 25 points and Alcorn State rode their two-man game to a 69-59 victory over Alabama A&M Saturday night in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

The Braves (7-15, 5-2) led 33-32 at halftime as Baker and Luckett combined for 27 points. The duo continued their scoring in the second half as the Braves outscored Alabama A&M 36-27 and hit free throws to win.

Baker made 7 of 16 field goal attempts, including a 3-pointer, and 10 of 12 foul shots. Luckett, meanwhile, was 9 for 15 from the field and sank seven of 12 free throws.

Alcorn State led 56-48 on two baskets and two free throws by Baker. The Braves made 10 foul shots in the last 2:08 to clinch it.

Green Hill led Alabama A&M (7-10, 3-3) with 12 points. Brandon Ellis added 11 and Nicholas West 10.
