VIDALIA — Services for Willie “Billy Joe” Stevens Jr, 83, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Triumph Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Doug Logan officiating.

Burial will follow in the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Stevens was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Vidalia, the son of Willie and Alberta Richardson Stevens.

He was a retired electrician for the Concordia Parish School Board and was also a crossing guard for Vidalia Upper Elementary School. Mr. Stevens also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie Lee Johnson Stevens; four sons, Terry Johnson, Kadrick Johnson, all of Vidalia, Joey Stevens and his wife, Catherine, and Steve McDonald, all of Chicago; three daughters, Erica McDonald of Chicago, Brenda Logan and her husband, the Rev. Doug Logan, Sharon Stewart and her husband, Gary, all of Vidalia; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
