pic 1NATCHEZ — Services for David Wayne Ferguson, 58, of Ellisville, who died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Paul Baptist Church in Washington with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Ferguson was born March 29, 1955, in Washington, the son of John and Hattie Floyd Ferguson. He was a 1972 graduate of South Natchez High School.

Mr. Ferguson was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed by Southwestern Regional Medical Center as a clinical assistant and driver for the past 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charles Jackson, Henry Ferguson and Percy Ferguson.

Survivors include one son, David Fletcher of Jackson; a soul mate and special friend, Susan Patterson, of Ellisville; four sisters, the Rev. Dr. Delores Ferguson-Richardson of Havre De Grace, Md., Harriet Ferguson-Saunders of Detroit, Bettye Ferguson of Atlanta and Hattie Ferguson-Smith of Natchez; and a number of relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the David Ferguson Scholarship Fund which will be used to supplement his son’s education.
