NATCHEZ — Services for Jack “Pete” Tolar, 71, of Jonesville, who died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his home in Jonesville, will be at 10 a.m. today at Jonesville Church of God with the Revs. Brad Crooks, Pervon Paul and Lloyd Trisler officiating.

Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Tolar was born March 31, 1942, in Wynne, Ark., the son of Toxie Hall Tolar and Ruby Wilson Tolar.

Mr. Tolar worked in law enforcement for 35 years as a chief criminal deputy, criminal investigator, supervisor for the Catahoula Sheriff’s Rescue Team, mounted patrol, narcotics task force and a Franklin Parish Sheriff’s deputy. He was also an emergency medical technician and Jiu Jitsu black belt. Mr. Tolar was a Vietnam veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and Army National Guard. He was also a member of the Jonesville Church of God.

Mr. Tolar was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joann Tolar; one son, Mark Tolar and wife, Cheryl, of West Monroe; two daughters, Paige Peoples and husband, Jeff, and Erin Hollier and husband, Patrick, all of Natchitoches; one sister, Jane Clark of Vidalia; six grandchildren, Jesse Baker and wife, Errin, Ross Peoples and wife, Rachal, Lynsey Tolar, Landon Tolar, Ella Hollier and Mia Hollier; and parents-in-law, Jr. and Wmma Trisler of Jonesville.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Trisler, John Manning, Rodney Sones, James Glenn Kelly, Darrell Nugent, Jesse Baker, Landon Tolar, Kenneth Chevallier and Roosevelt Savage.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Mason, E.C. Meyers, Bobby Alexander, Ed Rutledge and James Branch.
