NICEVILLE, Fla. – Services for Oliver McDonald “Rusty” Hornsby, 60, of Niceville, Fla., who died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, will be today in Niceville.
Mr. Hornsby was born July 6, 1947, in Natchez, the son of Oliver and Mary Jane Hornsby. He was a graduate of Natchez High School Class of 1965. Rusty was formerly associated with Golden Corral Restaurant of Fort Walton, Fla., and El Chico Corporation of Destin, Fla. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. He was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church of Niceville. A beloved father, grandfather and sibling, he was respected by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Pat Hornsby.
Survivors include his wife, Nida; five children, Lezzlie Hornsby, Trey Hornsby, Bernadette Jacques, Sandra Jones and Michele Peterson; eight grandchildren, Hunter Hornsby, Sydney Hornsby, Alexis Hornsby, Chantel Jacques, Deseree Jacques, Jyasaye Jones, Jeremiah Jones and Jonah Jones; four siblings, Jeff Hornsby, Lynn Hornsby, Janiver Hornsby Couture and Mary Jane Hornsby Morgan; and two aunts, Mrs. Theo (Margaret) Wesley and Mrs. Stanford (Helen) Rayne.
