NATCHEZ — Services for Paul G. Green, 91, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Natchez.

Burial will follow at the family plot at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Green was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Waynesboro, the son of the Rev. W.A. and Lillie Cole Green.

After graduating from Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, he was called to serve his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war, he and his parents moved to Roxie. Mr. Green came to Natchez and established Paul G. Green Real Estate, which he operated for more than 50 years.

An active member of First Baptist Church in Natchez, Mr. Green was ordained as a deacon in 1958 and was given the honor of Deacon Emeritus in 2003. He also served as co-chairman of the building committee during the planning and construction of the current First Baptist Church facility. Throughout the years, he served on a number of other committees including the finance, personnel and mission committees. Mr. Green was also a member of the Natchez Lions Club for more than 55 years, serving on numerous committees. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Edgar Green; his parents; and one brother, Rayford Green.

Survivors include one son, Paul Glenn Green and wife, Bridget, of Natchez; one daughter, Deborah Westbrook and husband, Ricky, of Anniston, Ala.; four grandchildren, Brian and Katherine Westbrook of Anniston, Vicki Eastland and husband, Jacob, of Destin, Fla., and Natalie Phillips of Houston; and two great-grandchildren, Leif Oliver Eastland and Fincher Glenn Eastland, both Destin.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Savant, Billy Pyron, Spencer Stutzman, Wayne Barnett, Kenneth Moss and George Ward.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church, John Leckie’s Sunday School class, E.C. McAndrews and Owen Hornstein.

The family requests that any donations be made to First Baptist Church.
