Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin K. Veillon of Lafayette, La., and Mr. James B. Doyle Sr. of Lake Charles, La., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittany Amanda Doyle, to John Albert Hodges, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Richard “Sonny” Hodges of Lake Charles.

The bride-to-be, whose mother is the former Debra Haney of Natchez, is a graduate of Lafayette High School and a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Anthropology. She is employed by Oil Land Services Inc., as an independent landman.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seth M. Haney Jr. of Lafayette, formerly of Natchez, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Doyle of Bolivar, Tenn.

The groom-to-be, whose mother is the former Jean Dolores Stutes of Crowley, La., is a graduate of Barbe High School in Lake Charles and attended the University of North Carolina. He is also employed by Oil Land Services Inc., as an independent landman.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Albert Hodges of Lake Charles and the late Mr. and Mrs. Phorbus Stutes of Crowley.

The wedding will be at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Point Aux Loups-Springs Ballroom in Iota, La.

After the wedding, the couple will live in Lafayette.
