Cox Hill’s haunted ride ready to scare

We’re back! After taking a year break and just trying to take it easy, Cox Hill’s Famous Haunted Trail Ride will go on this year.

We are so excited to bring it back, and we have been working diligently to get things in order.

Everyone has worked really hard to make this year a successful one. The event this year is a three-day event scheduled for Friday, Saturday and, of course, Halloween Night on Oct. 31, starting at 7 p.m. all three nights.

Admission is $8. There will be music by DJ Nate, concessions, booths for the kids, space jump and, if all goes as planned, a funhouse for the kids.

But who can forget about the Trail Ride. All our “boogers” are just ready to give you the scare of your life.

We will have our normal characters, such as Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, etc. And of course you can’t forget about the long tunnel you go through half way through the ride. It’s guaranteed to be a terrifying experience.

We have also added some scenes from the “Walking Dead” and other movies I’m sure you have seen on TV or at the theater.

Every scene has it’s own horrifying tale, and sometimes you never know what is lurking right behind you, and sometimes right beside you.

With that being said, Cox Hill does this as a benefit. All proceeds taken in are given to someone in need, and sometimes it can be more than one person.

The last year we did this, we did it for my dad who had unexpectedly passed away. I can’t even explain the appreciation my family and I had to be able to pay for his funeral because of this event.

This year we will be giving the proceeds to a local family, James and Kathy Green, who lost most of their things in a house fire, including their beloved pets.

Thank goodness they were able to escape unharmed, but the burden is just so terrible. We are asking the community to come out and support our event.

If you don’t like scary things, then just come out and show support for this family. We have such a strong community and we want to reach out where we can help if possible.

We provide a safe environment with security on hand during the whole event. So come on out on Friday, Saturday and Oct. 31 and get your scare on. It’s a guaranteed fright!
