Grand Village storytelling

The Grand Village of the Natchez Indians will host the 29th annual Eleventh Moon Storytelling from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the museum auditorium.

The event is recommended for ages 7 and up, and light refreshments will be served.

Eleventh Moon, for which the event is named, is based on the Natchez Indians’ calendar. The Natchez Indians would tell their tales during harsh winter months when they had more spare time.

The event this year will feature regional storytellers, such as Sam Jones, Marianne Raley, Joan McLemore and the Natchez Little Theatre players, as well as students from the Copiah-Lincoln Community College drama class.

All of the stories told are based on Native American or nature tales.

Morgantown Middle School students will also display masks made in their art class.

For more information about the event, call 601-446-6502.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Grand Village is located at 400 Jefferson Davis Blvd.

Mystery dinner show

The Natchez Bed & Breakfast Association will host “10 ways to say I love you” starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at Magnolia Hall.

The show is a romantic comedy performed by The Detectives Mystery Dinner Theater group from Jackson.

A candlelight, three-course meal will be served along with the show.

Tickets are $60 per person, and seating is limited.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception and cash bar and will be followed by the dinner and show at 7 p.m.

The show may contain adult content and humor and may not be suitable for children or those who are easily offended.

Tickets can be purchased at any of the following Natchez bed and breakfast locations: Bisland House, Brandon Hall Plantation, Cedar Grove Plantation, Devereaux Shields House, Dunleith Historic Inn, Linden, Magnolia Cottage, Marcia’s Cottages and Monmouth Historic Inn.

Magnolia Hall is located at 215 Pearl St.
