Goss to lead sport business program at university

DELAND, Fla. — Natchez native Benjamin D. Goss has accepted an appointment to the position of associate professor of sport business and director of the sport business academic program in the School of Business Administration’s Department of Marketing at Stetson University in Deland, Fla.

Goss most recently served as an associate professor of management at Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo., from 2004 to 2013.

He also held previous appointments at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., and The University of Southern Mississippi.

Goss, received his bachelor’s degree in 1995 and his master’s degree in 1996, both from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. He received his doctor of education degree from The University of Southern Mississippi.

He has authored or co-authored 18 book chapters and studies published in national or international academic refereed journals, and has made more than 40 national and international presentations at academic conferences.

In 2011, Goss was named as a one of the Springfield Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Outstanding Business Leaders.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Goss of Natchez, Goss has also served as a sport business consultant since 2004.
