Forest 1, Monterey 0

FOREST, La. — Dakota Helmer scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the third inning and that proved to be the game-winning run as the Forest Lady Bulldogs defeated the Monterey Lady Wolves 1-0 Tuesday afternoon.

The game was a pitching duel between Monterey’s Paige Bryan and Forest’s Bailey Norsworthy. But one pitch that Bryan would like to have back turned out to be the difference.

Norsworthy was the winning pitcher after holding Monterey to just three hits with four strikeouts and no walks in a complete-game performance. Bryan allowed no earned runs on five hits and one walk to go with five strikeouts.

Tiffany Weeks had two of the Lady Wolves’ three hits and finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Monterey (4-5) plays host to Vidalia in a make-up game today at 4 p.m.
