NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies charged one of three men Monday they believe responsible for an early morning armed robbery at Kaiser’s Mobil Mart.

Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said William Ryan Magee, 22, 91 Old Highway 84 No. 1, Lot 5, was charged with armed robbery and two counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Magee is believed to be one of three men who robbed the U.S. 61 North gas station, but Mayfield said deputies are not sure what role he played.

Mayfield said two men wearing plastic gloves and armed with pistols entered the gas station shortly before 3 a.m. Monday.

The men took the clerk to the back and stole an undetermined amount of cash, some of which was dropped on their way out. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.

Deputies believe, Mayfield said, a third man was driving Magee’s vehicle as a getaway car the robbers escaped in.

Mayfield said deputies were able to get a vehicle description from security footage and tracked the vehicle to a Myrtle Drive residence. Two pistols and plastic gloves were located in the trunk of the car.

Magee was later arrested at his residence and was being held at the Adams County Jail Monday night with no bond.

Mayfield said two more arrests are expected in the case.
