CENTREVILLE — After losing a district doubleheader on the road to Central Private School Saturday, the Centreville Academy Tigers got back on the winning track with a 10-0 win over the Adams County Christian School Rebels in five innings Monday afternoon.

Zach Moore went all five innings and held ACCS to just four hits. He struck out eight batters and walked four. Luke Thomas was charged with the loss after giving up seven runs on three hits in three innings. The defense behind him did not help him as the Rebels committed four errors.

Centreville led 1-0 after one inning of play before putting the game out of reach with six runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Tigers scored one run in the bottom of the fourth and two runs in the bottom of the fifth to defeat the Rebels by way of the 10-run-rule after five innings. Noah Burns went 2-for-3 with one run batted in and Tyler Caston had a double.

The damage done to the Concordia Recreation District 3 Complex as a result of Friday night’s severe weather forced Vidalia High School’s baseball and softball games on Monday afternoon to be postponed.

Not only have Vidalia’s junior varsity and varsity baseball games against LHSAA District 3-3A opponent Marksville High School been moved to today at 4 and 6 p.m., respectively, but the games will now be played at Marksville.

Vidalia’s JV and varsity softball teams were also scheduled to host Marksville, but those games have been postponed until a later date to be determined. The Lady Vikings next play at district rival Jena beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The drenching rain that hammered much of Wilkinson County late last week forced Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s junior varsity and varsity home games against Tallulah Academy in MAIS District 7-A action to be postponed until April 7. The JV game will start at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity game will follow at 6:30 p.m.
