MEADVILLE — The Franklin County High School Bulldogs built a comfortable lead throughout the fifth inning, but they had to buckle down in the top of the seventh inning to prevent an upset by Hazlehurst High School.

The Bulldogs (10-6) went ahead 5-1 before Hazlehurst was able to get its bats going with three hits inching within 5-4.

Franklin County tightened up their defense, not allowing another run which would have led them into extra innings with the momentum building within Hazlehurst.
