Ferriday native murdered in Tensas Parish

ST. JOSEPH, La. — A former Ferriday resident was murdered Saturday in Tensas Parish.

Torialle Hankston, 30, who was living in Baton Rouge, was found by authorities unconscious in St. Joseph early Saturday morning.

Hankston was taken to Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah where he was pronounced dead.

Tensas Parish Sheriff Rickey Jones said the TPSO received a call at 12:30 a.m. Saturday from the suspect allegedly responsible for the murder, Ashley Burroughs, 24, of St. Joseph.

Jones said TPSO arrived at the scene with an ambulance where they saw Hankston unresponsive.

Burroughs was arrested on a second-degree murder charge, and her bond is set at $500,000.

TPSO is in charge of the investigation.
