Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1, the SNAP program will aim to help special needs households, including individuals who are 55 years of age and older, make much needed health and safety repairs to homes.

Examples of home repairs include replacing a worn roof, electrical and plumbing repairs, ADA upgrades, and replacing out-of-date open flame heaters.

For a homeowner to be eligible to participate in the SNAP Program, you must own your home, the home must be your primary residence and it must be located within the city limits of Natchez.

In addition, the homeowner will need to meet the program’s income limits, which are based on household size, provide a copy of the homes deed and be willing to sign a five year deed restriction, a program requirement.

Incomplete applications may not be reviewed for program participation.

SNAP applications can be picked up at the Department of Planning & Community Development at the Natchez City Hall on 124 South Pearl St., beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Returned applications will be reviewed on first come, first received basis, with approximately 20 total applications being submitted for funding consideration to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas by Concordia Bank & Trust and Home Bank in early January, 2015.
