Adams County Board of Supervisor David Carter, A.J. Johnson, Horace Thompson and Jimmy Delaney look at a mulching machine during the Mississippi Firewise program at Kingston United Methodist Church. Mulching machines, along with controlled burns, are both ways used by the forestry department to clear brush-making areas less susceptible to out of control wildfires. The purpose of the Firewise program was to inform homeowners and members of the community about different ways to keep their home safe from wildfires. (Sam Gause / The Natchez Democrat)
