Dan and Lisa Palen of Springfield, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Elizabeth Palen to Hayden Champion, son of Tim and Allison Champion of Ozark, Mo.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Lighthouse Christian Academy in Springfield and a graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo.

She is employed by Buffalo School System.

She is the granddaughter of Sue Palen and the late Dan Palen of Springfield and Wally and Jerrie Hemmingway of Springfield.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Ozark High School and is attending Ozark Technical Community College in Springfield. He is employed by Cintas in Springfield.

He is the grandson of Irma Lee Hammack and the late Lanus Hammack and Larry and Joyce Champion of Vidalia.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Springfield.
