CALCASIEU, La. — Services for Donald Wiley Deaton, 77, of Alexandria, La., who died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Grace Home, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church in Calcasieu, La., with the Rev. Tim Boswell officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home in Alexandria.

Visitation will be at 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and at 10 a.m. until service time Monday, both at the church.

Mr. Deaton was born in 1937, in Baton Rouge, the son of Beuker and Gladys LeBlanc Deaton.

He attended Louisiana State University, served in the National Guard and was a mortgage broker in his professional career.

Donald was a Shriner and a Mason. He was both a member, as well as, Past Master of Concordia Lodge No. 305. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf and playing the saxophone.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Deaton was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Kathryn LeBlanc; one brother, Arlen Deaton; and one brother-in-law, Bert LeBlanc.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Connie NeSmith Deaton; four children, Darlene Deaton Holt and husband, Craig, of Alexandria, Donald “Bob” Deaton and wife, Deborah, Michelle Deaton Bryant and husband, Jeff, all of Natchez, and Stephen Thomas Deaton of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Steven Holt, Hunter Cameron Holt, Jeff Wells, Jeff Bryant, Chuck LeBlanc and Daniel Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Bourgeois, Willis Wolfe, Royce Whittington, Louis Foster and Gary Wells.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
