NATCHEZ — Services for Mance Williams Jr., 95, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez Community Campus, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.07:10 ManceWilliamsJr. obitpic

Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m., with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m., at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday at 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Williams was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Fenwick, the son of Larry Stark Williams and Mance Williams.

He was employed by John R. Junkin as a cement finisher and U.S. Steel and Budd Company as a heavy equipment operator.

Mr. Williams had an appreciation for the blues and gospel music.

He was preceded in death by wife, Frankie (Skipper) Williams; his parents; one daughter, Amanda Parker; one son, Mance Williams III; and one brother, R.T. Williams.

Survivors include two sons, Elisha “June” Williams and wife, Olga, and Larry Williams; one daughter, Mance “Cookie” Williams Mitchell; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
