NATCHEZ — Services for Jeffery Barnes, 34, of Colorado Springs, Colo., who died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, in Colorado Springs, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel at West Gate Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Egypt Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnes was born Nov. 24, 1981, in Natchez, the son of Major Barnes and Gwendolyn Barnes.

He was a graduate of Vancleave High School and was employed as a car sales consultant.

Mr. Barnes was a Christian. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, writing, watching sports, gaming and movies.

He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandfather, Sidney Barnes; paternal grandmother, Marie Barnes; and maternal grandfather, Elisha Wilkins.

Survivors include his mother; one brother, Marvin Barnes; one sister, Kenitra Barnes; and maternal grandmother, Vera Wilkins.
