LORMAN — Services for Hattie Gaines Walton, 92, of Fayette, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorman.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Walton was born July 5, 1918, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Alfred and Lucille Foster Gaines.

Mrs. Walton was the oldest mother on the Mother Board at Fellowship Baptist Church and was a member of the church’s Women’s Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.J. Walton; two sons, Andrew Walton and Sylvester Walton; four sisters, Johnnie Gaines, Lenora McCray, Juanita Peters and Evelyn Graham; and four brothers, Booker T. Gaines, Randolph Gaines, Rudolph Gaines and Rowan Gaines.

Survivors include seven daughters, Evelyn Fells, Alice Banks and husband, Marshall Jr., all of Fayette, Mary Williams of Natchez, Katie Horne and husband, Tom, of Springfield, Mass., Johnnie Jackson of Chicago, Annell Perry of Chicopee, Mass., and Elnora Huff and husband, the Rev. Eugene Huff, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sons, Eddie James Walton of Omaha, Nev., Vernell Walton and wife, Emma, and Felvis Walton, all of Fayette; two very special daughters-in-law, Emma Walton of Fayette and Lura Walton of Detroit; 32 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; five great-great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
