FERRIDAY — Services for Melvin “Fat” Milligan, 54, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Freddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Milligan was born Nov. 10, 1956, in Ferriday, the son of Tom and Lou Tolliver Milligan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kendrick Travers; one sister, Brenda Milligan; and one brother, Jesse Milligan.

Survivors include three brothers, Charles Milligan, Willie Milligan and James Milligan; three sisters, Elnora Milligan, Emma Conner and Willie Mae Spurs and husband, Isaac, all of Ferriday; one aunt, Doris Snearl and husband, Leonard, of Addis, La.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
