W.F. Youngblood

ROXIE — Memorial services for W.F. “Bill” Youngblood, 82, of Louisiana Plantation Retirement Community in Denham Springs, La., who died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, in Baton Rouge, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Roxie Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Ball officiating.

Mr. Youngblood donated his body to Tulane University School of Medicine.

Mr. Youngblood was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Sibly, La., the son of Will and Mellie Hutchins Youngblood. He was the owner of Bill’s Construction. He was Baptist.

Mr. Youngblood was a Mason and a member of Marksville Masonic Lodge No. 269, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He loved working in his shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Deborah Ann Youngblood; two sisters, Alline Shows and Marie Plunkett; and four brothers, J.C., Jim, Lloyd and Bo Youngblood.

Survivors include two sons, Bernard Youngblood and wife, Jan, and Mark “Peanut” Youngblood and wife Belinda; one sister, Francis Polk; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and special best friend, Alberta “Coonie” Ducote and her dog, Foolish, who brought him much joy and laughter.
