VIDALIA — Services for William “Carl” Bruce, 78, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, April 9, 2016, in Vidalia, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vidalia Methodist Church with the Rev. Truman Stagg officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Bruce was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Fort Necessity, La., the son of Otis Carl Bruce and Eudora Nicholes Bruce.

He was a member of the Natchez Chapter of the Loyal Order of the Moose since 1978 and was one of the founders of the Vidalia Riding Club.

Mr. Bruce proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Allen Bruce Sr. and wife, Cindy, of Vidalia and Justin Bruce and wife, Tonya, of St. Francisville, La.; two daughters, Janice Bruce of Vidalia and Kiristie Bruce Jacome and husband, Tomas, of Baton Rouge; lifelong friend, Carolyn G. Bruce of Vidalia; one brother, Ernie Bruce of Downsville, La.; one sister, Kathleen Gossett of Ferriday; six grandchildren, Mark Allen Bruce Jr., Logan Bruce, Gavin Bruce, Carla Bruce, Adam Delaney and Brian Delaney; two great-grandchildren, Mark Allen Bruce III and Tayen Brown; extended family, Kenny Mann and wife, Vickie, and their son, James, Robert Smith and wife, Darlene, and their daughter, Megan, Chris Binns and wife, Kayla, and their son, Cooper, and daughter, Mollie Grace, Ethan Loyed, Donald Bertelsen and wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Katelynn; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bruce Sr., Randy Hill, Gavin Bruce, Donald Bertelsen, Ethan Loyed and Lance Bruce.
